Do we need a car?-----no. The DeChant Beach Front Apartment is within walking distance to a Winn Dixie Supermarket (5 min), a CVS Pharmacy (4 minutes), a bank (4 min), a Dunkin Donut (4 min), several world class restaurants (2-10 min), an ice cream parlor (6 min). One of the best Jazz clubs in Fort Lauderdale is a 10 minute walk away. One of our restaurants has an upstairs dance room for weekends with a live band. There are several other food and music venues within a 10 minute walk. The public bus system has several buses that stop just in from of the resort.
Bus 72 goes along Oakland Boulevard and will take one to the coral springs mall with its shops and theaters + a giant Publix Supermarket or all the way to SAWGRASS Mall outlet center.
Bus 36 goes to Sunrise Blvd and the elegant Galeria Mall with it's designer shops, delicious food court, and 5 world class restaurants. It also goes to SAWGRASS Mall outlet center.
Bus 11 goes along the beach to Los Olas Blvd then travels along Los Olas all the way to the Riverwalk and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. In the other direction it goes along A1A up the coast making it possible to see many of the sights along the beach. The area North is quite interesting. Be sure to attend the First Sunday Free Jazz Brunch on the River Walk. (Bus 11)
At Los Olas one can take the Sun Trolley to the 17th Street Causeway and the Harbour Mall.
No, you do not need a car.
But, if you bring a car or rent a car our resort has a Valet Parking system ($8 per day) making it always simple to park.
 Four floors down from the top our condo sits on the 8th floor on the quiet side of the building. The Tiki bar on the beach is open until the wee hours and sometimes has music at night. |
 The Beach is private for our resort guests only. Chair rentals and Umbrella rentals are very reasonable. We provide beach towels in the condo |
